Is camp stove cooking allowed on LA County beaches? I know charcoal BBQs are not; maybe a portable grill is?

I know about Dockweiler but want to go somewhere else…any suggestions? thanks!

That’s a rather gray area. The rule is "no barbecues allowed on the beach". (http://beaches.co.la.ca.us/BandH/beach%20guide-shell.pdf)

Technically, a camp stove is not a barbecue, since it requires a pan or griddle to cook food. But you never know with the beach patrol. You could get somebody who’s taking a power trip, and wants to show you who is boss. Sure, you could disagree with them, get cited, and whatever, and you’d probably eventually win in court. But to me, it’s not worth the risk.
